You have an egg, a stove, and a new laptop computer in a concrete room. The room has no doors nor windows (except for the computer, which is running Windows Vista). You want to boil the egg for exactly five minutes. The "clock" program on the laptop computer is not working. You do not have internet access. The stove does not have a timer on it.

How do you time the egg?

Nobody's said anything for a while, so I'll just give you the answer:

Start boiling the egg. Shut down the computer. When it finally shuts down, the egg will be done. (I actually timed this)

Doesn't that depend on the speed of your computer?

(I wouldn't know because I always leave the room before the computer finishes shutting down...)
