It is still your birthday, I think, so happy birthday. Unfortunately I do not have a Pikachu to echo those sentiments.

I hate you, Ben. I hope your birthday is marred by lizards.

Just kidding. I know you love lizards.

I also say, happy birthday America, even if you weren't really born until 14/01/1784.

My country doesn't have an independence day, because we don't really have anyone to have become independent from. It also makes it difficult for us to have a collective identity, since we do not all have the common factor of having-been-oppressed-by-sth.

An Englishman complaining about the difficulties of having a collective identity? Pshaw.

Also, another belated happy birthday to you, Ben.

As an ignorant non-Brit, I have no idea what the difference is--care to enlighten me?

I was thinking that English might be a slightly narrower category than British, but then I realized that your location says "London," which, to me, seems to be about as English as you can get, so I'm kind of confused. Maybe you're insulted by the "man" part?

I am from England, yes, but I wouldn't consider myself "English". The country I come from is Britain and hence I am British. I'm sure you wouldn't call yourself a Hudsonite, despite the fact you technically are, since Gotham City is in Hudson County[citation needed]. Similarly, I suppose I am technically English, but I wouldn't refer to myself like that.

You could call me European instead of British, I wouldn't mind that.

Also, you should totally go vote for Jeff MacDougall here: http://www.quickstopentertainment.com/2 ... ng-begins/
