RevAnderson...those are really quite good. Did you cheat at all or did you just come up with a bunch of really fitting combinations?

The first one's actually mine, he just stole it. *eyeroll* :) But no, they were all just completely random, the only thing I did was pick a second band name because the first one was around 10 words long. We apparently just have really awesome random luck.

That said, here are the ones that are actually mine, all thrown together in PdN:

Not bad at all. The one with the dominoes made me smile.

This feels like "the Grammy Award-winning 1999 hit Smooth by Santana featuring Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty jazz" wallpaper music, I think.

aikoekadan,
I like the way you coordinated the text colors with the picture on "league of coloured peoples" - risky, but it works well given the name of the band.

I think the second one turned out better.

Is this over? I haven't been around the forums much lately, but this seemed like fun, so:

I like how the band name looks but had some trouble with the album name.

Hm, wonder why this thread died down again so quickly. It must have something to do with the way StumbleUpon works--I'm beginning to get quite curious because I have noticed some other quirks as well.

Anyway, when I have the time, I have a few good combinations I'm planning to assemble and post.

Hey, this looks entertaining. Plus, it's spurred me to download a new version of the GIMP which is less pants.

I like the effect on the album title for the second one, but the picture is just too busy.

I think it would be much better without the word "tinsel," but I guess that would be against the rules.

Also, I don't think I've mentioned yet how much I like your signature, MH (that is to say, "a lot").

Thank you, Batman, the Caped Crusader.

The dandelion is, I think, a little too close to the edge of the frame. But that's what I have to work with here, people.

Man, I remember when this was going around and I never did it!

I will do it now, OK?

I cropped them so that they would be the right shape. If that's not allowed then this is stupid and I hate it.

Those pictures are both insane, and awesome. I wonder what's going on in them? Well, I mean, obviously not a whole lot is "going on" in the first one, but it's still a rather strange picture.

Yeah, I cheated just a little on the images as in when I came up with sunsets on the beach I skipped them because we've already seen enough of that crud.

That had to happen like five times just to get these two images.

This one seemed too good to be true.

Then I just kind of said, "Hey, forget doing it right, I am now officially vetoing pictures I don't like, because I'm not going to spend ten minutes choosing fonts for something that sucks."

I'm bored, it's 10.30pm. Hence:

Hmm... the problem is that you often end up with long unwieldy band names. And although the quote fits the picture, I just think it misses a certain... je ne sais quoi.

Also, the quote it's taken from is an anti-economics quote, which is bad, because economics is awesome. Honest.

Economics is indeed awesome. One of my two personal heroes is an economist.

When I had to write about a famous person I admired in English, I wrote about J. M. Keynes. I don't think I did very well.

In fact, I propose a filter to change 'economics' to 'awesomeonmics'.

Do you still admire Keynes? I must admit I far prefer Friedman and Sowell.

I don't like Friedman much. I don't like the fact he was opposed to Keynes, because otherwise we could have had a combination of the two called Milton-Keynes economics.

Also, he never said "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?", which Keynes did.

I also like J. K. Galbraith, so if you are an economist I recommend changing your first name to John and maybe putting a K in somewhere and I will probably admire you.

That is indeed a pretty awesome quote. I had forgotten that was Keynes.
