I've been thinking I should write a theme for Terror Island, and not just one about Ben (ben ben ben ben ben ben). What should I include in the lyrics? Any key words or phrases I should work in?

The current 'unofficial' theme is a gilligan's island parody.

Words that would be good for the theme:

Vexillographer
Czar
The Blue
"The Green Grocer"
Sour Grapes (or "Sounds like someone's been eating Sour Grapes")
"Pleased to Net your Acquaintance."
The Unity

Other people should feel free to suggest things.

This may not be a rhyming song.

If you want it to be epic, it has to rhyme..

If I wanted it to be epic, I'd also have to start it in medias res and begin with an invocation of the muses.

this is as good a place as any to mention what it takes for a work of drama to be a tragedy according to Aristotle's Poetics:

The central character's downfall has to stem from some feature of his own character. If it doesn't, it is not a tragedy but a misadventure.

The story of Job, for example, is a misadventure.

(it was actually pointed out to me that since his devotion to god was crucial to the plot, it might still be a tragedy)

It could be one of those fake rhyming songs, where Vexillographer/Czar counts.

I want to ask about whether there has been progress on this without seeming impatient or ungrateful.

Please assume that I have successfully done so.

You also would not have to rhyme.

That is, assuming we're not modeling this thing after some lame translation that actually does rhyme.

Translations should always rhyme.

Translations of epic non-rhyming poetry, or translations of everything?

I have done nothing so far. But I did use the word "vexillography" in some lyrics and then didn't end up using that verse in final version of the song.

It will come, my children. Patience.

By the way, tinyfolk, this is your initiation process, to write this song.

I guess I've gotten a little less creative with my initiations.

Well, for the most part, they seem to fit the person being initiated, which is good.

Oh, by the way, I've got titles for Projectyl and tinyfolk. I made tinyfolk Chief of Martial Arts because I felt that Poet and Bard weren't quite enough.

BatmanAOD: Leader of the Jamists and Dark Knight
chenjesu: Prince-Diplomat-Notary (PDN)
Projectyl: Anagram Manager and Master
tinyfolk: Bard, Poet, and Chief of Martial Arts

Didn't you guys have a theme in the comments to #140? The reason I remember is because it had something to do with Cincinnati, which is actually where I live.
I thought something along the lines of "Cincinnati?!?! We...did something noteworthy?"

There was a TV show with Cincinnati in the title.

WKRP or something.

But honestly Lewis's theme is better :P

The WKRP in Cincinnati theme is vastly underrated, in my opinion. I think I'd be comfortable putting it in the top ten TV theme songs, though not the top five.

I've always been a fan of "Suicide is Painless", the M*A*S*H theme.
