I'm still totally lost.

But then...do the filters only change words/phrases that have a space on either side?

Because "thatthe internet" didn't turn into "thatInternet"...

Yeah, it won't filter things that are just parts of other words. That means it's safe to say "coolant," "four," and "wombatmanacles."

There are currently 15 filters, some of which have never been triggered yet.

I can't be the only one that found TI through the ham sketches, can I?

The ham sketches are Lewis and Ben's momentos from ComicCon 2006. They can be found here: http://www.starslipcrisis.com/ham/

They're pretty good, but I like Terror Island better.

I found out about Terror Island because I used to draw a web comic and someone told me that my webcomic reminded them of "Move that Cart", a comic by Ben Heaton. So then I read it and liked it a lot. I told Ben about my comic and he commented on it once or twice. Then I started making music and one of the first songs i ever wrote was called "an ode to ben heaton" and the lyrics were me just saying his name over and over while a crappy drum beat played. He was doing FOMS at the time, and then when he started doing terror island i checked it out. So, long story short, I found out about it from Ben's lj.

Thank you, kind sir. It was one of the first six songs I ever wrote. Now I've got hundreds.

I found out about Terror Island from a girl in one of my chemistry classes. We were talking about how we both like xkcd, and she recommended Terror Island.

I'm pretty sure I am that girl.
I think it's time to stop lurking . . . since my friends seem to have beat me here!

Only one way to check if this is the right chemistry class: How would you pronounce the last letter in the Greek alphabet?

You got called an "awesome girl" by Lewis even before your first post?

That's fairly impressive.

I'm not entirely comfortable with the primary proponent of my faction advertising it in such a "jump on the bandwagon" fasion.

Especially on this forum.

Oh, never mind, go ahead.

There is a hazing, but it is different for each person. And it's more of a quest. Projectyl had to create an anagram.

I challenged myself to become the questmaster and come up with quests for everyone that joins. This was legitimate because I became the questmaster at the same time I gave myself the quest.

Technically, Factitious has to sign you up. Unless that comment was directed at Factitious, in which case, don't read this.

I think I learned about Terror Island from a Project Wonderful ad on the old Killroy and Tina site. This would be cool because I could add it to a previously-traced chain of things that introduced me to other things.

Friend of mine -> Homestar Runner -> They Might Be Giants -> This Might Be a Wiki -> Songs To Wear Pants To -> Killroy and Tina -> Terror Island (?)
