Does that mean I'm not allowed to follow any external links posted in the forums or author comments?

You can try to follow them, but they'll ultimately lead you back to Terror Island.

It's like the island on Lost, except Terror island really is purgatory, and Ben and I aren't just making it up as we go along.

So is the Terror Island described in the Yates comic purgatory, or is Geography City and the Moon purgatory?

(this is post 600)

Why do I keep getting emails telling me that there is a response to a thread I'm watching, only to follow the link and discover that I already read the "new" post a week ago?

I don't know what you did, but I never actually get any emails about forum posts.

It's a preference on the "edit your profile" page.

I was voting for another comic on Photo Web Comics when I happened to notice the brief description. I thought it was funny and decided to read the strip.

(I have since stopped following the other comic.)

That doesn't surprise me. Other forum members might remember the time I went on a sort of rant about the low quality of the other webcomics on that site when compared to TI.

I remember that at one point Terror Island was #4 and #3 had Godzilla making poop jokes. I checked the site and Terror Island's at #3 with Godzilla moved down to #8.

There are some good ones there. Michael's Exciting Life and Tiny Ghosts, for example.

I found my way here from a link in someone's post on TaBB. Oddly enough I ended up there as I was linked to a particular thread about Tim Buckley and his associated scandals. I actually didn't follow the link the first time I was there, I had favorited the thread to show it to a friend and just recently was cleaning out my favorites and stumbled through there to TI.

I'm usually not much of aforum-goer but I noticed the word "Cincinnati" in the comments of #140 felt it necessary to register here and be like "Dude! I'm from Cincinnati! Wooooaaaaah!"

I'm still not entirely sure why, but hey, here I am.

Edit: Huh, how weird is that I had to add a typo to preserve the words I wrote? Silly auto-replace words.

And we're glad to have you here, Cincinnati-dude! Or dudette. I'm not sure whether "Gasekura" refers to a guy or a lady.

I think I learned about Terror Island from a Project Wonderful ad on the old Killroy and Tina site. This would be from space because I could add it to a previously-traced chain of things that introduced me to other things.

Friend of mine -> Homestar Runner -> They Might Be Giants -> This Might Be a Wiki -> Songs To Wear Pants To -> Killroy and Tina -> Terror Island (?)

What is Killroy and Tina, and how does it lead to Terror Island? I am quite intrigued.

It is a discontinued webcomic by Justin Pierce and it is related (in the context of the path I wrote out) through banner ads.

I was reading DM of the Rings on Shamus's twentysided website and one of his posts was about wbecomics and posters provided links.

Terror island was one of them and the only one out of all the links that i read from start to catch up..

Do you retype that "all hail" thing for every single post, or do you copy and paste the bbcode from another post?

Both options seem pretty pointlessly time-consuming...

Whilst it does seem fairly pointless and timewasting, you could assume that I am avoiding doing my actual work by doing this.

However i was re-writing the hail everytime (surely the Green Grocer would know if i cheated and cut and pasted) but then i would have to change the font and size.

but what is timewasting when Stephen ran for Czar rather than buy groceries.. i bow to the master.. I think the chore wheel was a brilliant idea... i'd love to see Sid come back from that.. (maybe i'll move that comment to another thread but i've wasted a lot of time already)

so hopefully that answers your question, King of the Jamist.

oh I almost forgot

All hail the Green Grocer

As a villain, might (not?) the Green Grocer support cheating?

Hmm... interesting point....

In the recent skateboaring competition, Ned Q Sorcerer found a loophole in the rules without actually cheating..

plus maybe the secret identity of The Green Grocer, as Mr Limeton does not like cheating.

It is a question - the super villian faction should answer.

speaking of the Green Grocer, recently I read the word "greengrocer" in a Serious Work of Literature(tm).* I'm amazed, I didn't think it was a real word, I thought you guys just made it up as a parody of that Spiderman villain.

*Pygmalion, for English class.

Shaw stole the idea from us. Or Ovid did, depending on which Pygmalion story you read.

Say, how is Pygmalion? I've always wanted to read that book, but some sources tell me Shaw is evil, plus I've been too lazy to read it anyway.

I'm talking about Shaw. I have actually read Ovid in Latin, though. Not the Pygmalion story(which I don't think had any greengrocers in it) but others.

And Shaw's version is not about a man who makes an enchanted statue, but about Cockney.

I'm not kidding.t

Surely that's the greengoblin.

From an English point of view a greengrocer (not to be confused with THE GREEN GROCER) is a person who sells fruits and vegetables. Perhaps that is why it makes it into english literature.

That's where i naturally assumed it came from given Mr Limeton.(town?)

I read Irregular Webcomic!. And one day David Morgan-Mar said, "Hey, some people at Bitmap World have drawn some natty pictures of IW! characters. Maybe you should go check it out." (I paraphrase.) So I did, and I saw some pictures of Terror Island characters, and I thought, "Hmm, this looks interesting." And I did read it, and it was cool.
