I could see it working as a two-dimensional sphere three-dimensional circle, with player 3 rotating different rings. Maybe you can also move the radii, and one of the players wants to get its pieces in the centre. And it occurs to me it would be a good metaphor for trying to win an election - player 3 is the Liberal Democrats (a minority party that only has any hope of getting in if there's not a clear majority - and that ended well)

We have a word for whatever you people mean by "two dimensional sphere" and the word is "circle".
