A review of the calendar. Which names of months are the best, and which of the actual months themselves do you like?

As an optional constraint, avoid using the word 'month'.

Roman stuff, briefly: there were ten months, then Quintember and Sexember got renamed July and August, then January and February got added at the end of the year (???), then they got moved to the start of the year, then all the Europeans went 'no we're going to start the new year in March' but they kept writing their calendars with January at the start, then eventually the Gregorian calendar got adopted and all was well.

I got all this from Wikipedia, so it might be wrong. Wikipedia also says "After Julius Caesar reformed the calendar in 46 BC and was subsequently murdered" in a way that makes it sound like a causal chain. But he doesn't deserve a loss of points.

I went to Cambridge where our three teaching units are called Michaelmas, Lent and Easter. In Oxford they're called Michaelmas, Hilary and Trinity, which is obviously morally abhorrent.

I also feel a certain affection for February because of its variability, but I also like that it's short. Although that might be sort of pity.

Creme Eggs are acceptable (and, I believe, available, at least here) year-round.

I made a Ben-inspired resolution to not say the word 'briefcase' one year, and then I was playing Kingdom of Loathing and encountered a briefcase bat and felt suitably moved as to exclaim its name out loud.

We have an August Bank Holiday here. There is a vague chance The Gubbmint are going to rename it Thatcher Day, because they're The Gubbmint.

I think of November as pleasantly cool - it's December/January/February which I don't like because of the weather. Although I looked at "Climate of the United States" and it looks more or less the same so maybe you just have a different conception of 'pleasantly cool'.

This year I noticed "Cadbury Scream Eggs" coming out around Halloween. The cream inside was green instead of white/yellow.

But they should've gone whole hog, and made it blood red.

Blood is a lot scarier than green slime.

I'm not particularly worried you failed the optional constraint, I didn't think you'd be crazy enough to attempt it.

Also, this episode falsifies my iTunes review.

I must say, I like the long version of this episode better than the short one.
