This seemed like the best place to post this, since the "New Year" is essentially a side-effect of recording time the way we do.

So--happy New Year, everyone!

Now--feel free to discuss alternative calendars, the nature of time, etc., etc.

Happy New Year!

2008 is neat because it's a power of two times a prime.

The last time this happened was in 2003.

1003 factors as 17*59.

2006 was weird.

I said 2003, not 2006, Ben.

I think he assumed you meant 2006 because 2003 is obviously not a power of 2 times a prime, because it's not even.

Yeah, I was going to edit my post about that, but then I forgot.

What I was going to say was, I was assuming that Ben meant a non-zero, non-negative integer power of two.

By the way, Ben, I'm beating you in posts. I think I should get a filter on my name for this achievement.

A color-change filter?

Is that possible?

Because that would be awesome.

Oh, yeah, Ben, can you make it so the filter says

"Chenjesu"

That's in dark blue, btw, so it would really freak someone out if they had been looking at the screen for several hours and they thought it was a link.

Wow.

That was impressive.

Did you look up each individual color code?

No, I just added 11 to each of the color fields. So it went from 00337b to 11448c. I have a (basic) idea of hex colors.
