Unwinder--the gun drawings look just like the kinds of sketches I filled notebooks with when I was in 5th grade. To me, they look just like I drew them.

I thought the 4th chapter ran about 36 words too long though. The 5th chapter really tied the series together.

also true story about childish doodles: we were drawing planes in the back of class in 2nd grade and I had a great idea which was a plane with wings like 10000 feet long and little fans on flaps on the bottom so it could hover. The consensus among the boys drawing planes was that it would not be able to fly very fast. I responded by claiming that it was designed to save people from volcanoes, which seemed to settle the debate while I drew a volcano on the bottom of the paper. This anecdote was forgotten for several years until I found my time capsule from that year shortly after returning from college break. Evidently I had considered this victory important enough to document and put in my time capsule. It was a deeply confusing day when I opened it.

Hey guys, I did not do good enough in my job, and I got demoted back to my old position, but I've got this sweet apartment I've got to afford, so I am psychotically focused on finding a better job right now.

I'm looking for something with more regular hours, so I can get more of a daily routine going, and hopefully do a better job of making comics at a steady pace.

Good call on that. I did it.

I found a substantially better job.

Yeah, I just got a donation, so I'm going to try and get a new comic up fast, but it probably won't be that tall.

think of this comic as setting low standards for tallness so that next time you post a really tall one we will feel like it's a really really tall one instead.

OK, I will think of it in those terms, and that will happen.

The latest strip was brilliant. The idea and execution is wonderful.

My favorite panel is the one where he's in the ice.

The punchline and the panels leading up to it were great too.

Thank you! Yeah, if you don't mind me spreading some of my narcissism from that other thread over here, I feel like the fine-tuning on the jokes "lately" has been pretty on.

Also, I've been pretty pleased with the inventiveness of the concepts. I like to think that people who read one strip, and then never come back find themselves a year later thinking "where did I see that first-person-shooter lottery ticket? Was that a real thing?" or "What was that thing where that kid had special glasses to tell the difference between different vehicles?"

Yeah the idea of someone thinking about Tallcomics and wondering if it was all a dream is a pretty appealing one.

I agree that you've been good at coming up with inventive concepts lately, and really always.

I also enjoy the e-cig comic and the title text on the comic too

I like horse-man trying to keep making his point in the face of unwinder’s derailment

Unwinder, I really enjoyed your last two comics, and the link about slednecks, and your analytical posts, and reading your proto-Tall Comics work.

ps Good Job on fixing Howard, he was not as cool in the Patio and that would have been a shame, not having Howard as we have him now.

Unwinder, people always compliment my/your Howard shirt, but I'm not sure if people actually like it, or they find it so disturbing that they feel compelled to make a comment, but then they remember that their mother told them that if they can't say something nice they shouldn't say anything at all, but they have to say something, so they say something nice. probably the former

Ha ha, I just sold a few of those, and they are being a nightmare to print, because I'm missing some of my equipment since I moved.

I do like the idea of a t-shirt having a personal message intended only for one person named Amy--ideally this would be a person the wearer sees every day and knows well.

Hey Unwinder, if it wouldn't be much trouble would you mind checking out my web comic? I'd be honored if you would, you're one of my favorite artists.

http://undertheweathercomics.tumblr.com <-- here is where I update it regularly.

http://underthescroll.tumblr.com <-- this is my preferred method of viewing the comics, though.

You other guys can check it out too if you want, I think it's a pretty good comic.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Creating a narrative and characters without words is tough, and you do a decent job at it. I like your art's surrealist style though it's not amazing from a technical standpoint (I can't draw worth a damn, so I shouldn't criticize I guess). The best advice I can give is to keep at it (and that is not as easy as it sounds). I feel you have a lot of potential!

Speaking of keeping at it... Unwiiiiiiiiinder?
