Man I'm still trying to grasp the idea behind the Raw Shark tests. What kind of concepts are the dangers???

Also The Hitchhiker's Guide make physics jokes how can any jokes be better

My description of The Raw Shark Texts is my least favorite one of those reviews. I spent a while trying to come up with a more accurate description that wouldn't spoil it, but I couldn't. It's a good read, though. I recommend it.

I have to admit, I can see why you would like the plot of the Dirk Gently novels better than the Hitchhiker plots, and I can even imagine liking the characters in the one better than those in the other (although my personal tastes tend the other way on both counts); I cannot, however, understand why you would consider the jokes in the Hitchhiker novels inferior to those in the Dirk Gently novels. I guess my main complaint is that Hitchhiker was essentially straight-up satire from start to finish, and nearly every paragraph was full of hilarious ideas and jokes, whereas Holistic Detective Agency and Long Dark Teatime seemed like much more "serious" works that were less concerned with such frivolities. There were, to be sure, funny lines and moments, but unlike in Hitchhiker, these were the exception rather than the rule.
