I am slightly confused. Why would it have been Ravenswood's fault?

I had made the request "More talking food!"

I thought maybe the responsibility inherent in such a request might have caused Ben to lose vital energy, or something. Or (since he eats the remains of all food-related requests) perhaps the talking bananas gave him indigestion.

That's rather a fascinating theory, actually. Bit mad, though, perhaps.

Aw, man, I totally missed out on a chance to say, "He ate something that disagreed with him."

And yet you said it anyway, well done!

To be pedantic, it doesn't say anywhere that comics will be posted on all days divisible by three. So far this month, every member of the set "days posted on" is also a member of the set "days divisible by three". So maybe there's a technical case to make for the commitment still being on track?

I agree with MH, because it means my July guess could still be correct.

Looks like I tricked Ben into putting my birthday in his latest comic.

By the way, this is now the forum where I talk about comics I'm too lazy to make a thread about.

It's also where I'm too lazy to split those posts off into a separate thread.

And I'm too lazy to complain.

Wait, no I'm not! Make another thread, youse guys!

MH, how did you like the strip about hobos?

Author:  MH [ April 3rd, 2010 22:41:35 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: 2010 Resolution

(Why me specifically?)

I thought it was pretty good. "Mallet Game" is a nice gag, it's got an amusing overemphasis on how it's fulfilling the request ("That explains there being NO HOBOS HERE"). Not one of the better ones, but hardly disappointing.

Ha ha, I tricked you into talking about comics in this thread, now your earlier complaint is invalid!!

Also, now I'm going to make a blockbuster motion picture based on this comic, and Ben won't be able to do anything about it because his copyright symbol is missing.

Dude, get with the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works. In fact, the US did in 1989, which is why you'd nonetheless be infringing copyright. Ha!

Dammit, Token, I was gonna say that!

Still, I'd like to see the blockbuster motion picture based on that comic anyway.

And dammit chenjesu in general. You have not won.

Perhaps we should settle this over a game of Facebook Scrabble, MH. You like Scrabble, right?

Is the new update schedule once a week? Because if so, I am not in favour of that schedule.

Post subject:  Re: 2010 Resolution

I'll try to remember to talk about the schedule in the next strip's comments. It's weekly, but I'm using the weekly schedule as an opportunity to do some of the requests I have that take extra time to do. The fortune cookie one, for example, is something I'd been meaning to get around to for well over a month, but it didn't fit well into a more frequent update schedule.

This is going to be more obvious as the month goes on, since I'm doing the May strips in roughly increasing order of difficulty. The last one is something I've been working on writing off and on for several months — there are a lot of references I need to get right for it, and props to plan out.

My basic motivation for going weekly was that I'd been having trouble keeping to a schedule lately, and saw two ways to fix that: committing to less frequent updates, or diving right back in to daily. I decided to do both of them, and this is what I picked to do first. Daily will reappear before long; maybe not in June, but definitely some time in summer. It may also have a bit of a twist to it this time, to distinguish it from January.
