It could be a requestion mark.

I think it's a question mark, repeated. Hence, "re-question mark"

Or, it could be something that inquires upon a question mark, in which case it would just be a question mark "re: question mark"

Actually, I envision the requestion mark as looking like a normal question mark but with an extra downstroke (so it kinda looks like n= on its side) and then a little dash underneath, so that it looks like a smiley face as well. I don't know why I think that should be the requestion mark.

first attempt, not very good.

Try and improve.

Also, an alternate suggestion for what the requestion mark should look like: an octothorpe with question-mark hooks on the top.

For a favicon it has to be 16x16.

And I like your suggestion.

Usually not to that size. At that size, every pixel matters.

Maybe he's just putting his ideas down on a larger image

Yes, perhaps he's workshopping the image. This is, after all, a terrific space.

Also, it should look more dynamic.

They should be different colors. Otherwise, I like it.

You should have deleted the second post, then edited the first post with your chosen message. You can only delete a post if it's the last in the thread.

Ohhh. I think we had this discussion before, actually, and now I feel like an idiot. Awesome!

Perhaps you could turn one of the marks upside down and then have them hooked together. That might look nice.

How about a :? symbol without weird fancy things? it suggests re:quest(ion) marking AND a confused smiley all by itself already.

And it also suggests a sort of command-line interface thing: "What is thy request? :?"

3 years later and still no favicon? Ben's such a slacker.

I envision something with a camera and question mark. Something like this: http://www.favicon.cc/?action=icon&file_id=3260 but maybe laying a red question mark over the top.
